Allon Therapeutics to present at International CNS Disease Congress

VANCOUVER, June 21, 2007— Allon Therapeutics Inc. (the “Corporation”) (TSX:NPC), the Neuroprotection CompanyTM, announced that the Company has been invited to present Allon’s clinical progress and strategy for AL-108 at the 3rd Annual CNS Diseases Congress, June 25th to 26th, 2007, located at the Hilton Boston Back Bay Hotel, in Boston Massachusetts. The presentation by Dr. Bruce Morimoto, Allon’s VP of Drug Development, is titled “Neuroprotection by AL-108, an Intranasal Peptide” and will take place on Monday June 25th at 9:30am EST.

Dr. Morimoto’s plenary presentation will address and illustrate the neuroprotective effect of Allon’s drug, AL-108 and explain the development strategy behind the two Phase II clinical trials, one for Alzheimer’s disease and one for schizophrenia-related cognitive impairment. Recently published data showed that Allon’s product candidate AL-108 significantly reduces the accumulation of amyloid peptide and the hyperphosphorylation of tau protein in the brain, two pathological hallmarks of Alzheimer’s.

“One of the challenges of neuropeptide drug development is understanding the mechanism and kinetics of how the drugs work, something Allon has repeatedly demonstrated over the course of the last two years,” said Dr. Morimoto. “Together, these results showed that AL-108 is available to its pharmacological target compartment to exert its potent neuroprotective effects.”

AL-108 is currently being evaluated in a Phase II efficacy trial as part of Allon's Alzheimer's program. This trial is expected to complete enrolment at the end of 2007. Early in 2007, AL-108 was selected by the National Institute of Mental Health funded project TURNS (Treatment Unit for Research on Neurocognition and Schizophrenia) for another Phase II efficacy trial evaluating it as a treatment for schizophrenia-related cognitive impairment.
